Role Overview
As an Accounting Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The role involves handling day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering reliable financial reports that support sound business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare precise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS standards.
- General Ledger Management: Manage accounts payable and receivable, and carry out routine bank reconciliations.
- Tax Compliance: Handle statutory tax filings including VAT, WHT, and CIT, ensuring adherence to local tax regulations.
- Audit Support: Provide documentation and explanations to support both internal and external audit processes.
- Budgeting & Controls: Support annual budget preparation and track budget variances for management review.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional Certification: Must be a Chartered Accountant (ICAN).
- Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience within the Finance Sector (Banking, Insurance, Fintech, or Investment firms).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or SAP, with strong MS Excel skills.
- Core Competencies: Excellent analytical skills, strong ethical judgment, and exceptional attention to detail.
